Herbal Remedies
I like to do a lot of things, probably too many. One passion I’ve had for 30 years is growing medicinal plants and making folk medicines. In the spring of 2021, Poppywort was my creation, combining California Poppy and Motherwort.

The mimosa tree is considered “invasive.” But, despite this insult to the tree it is highly regarded in Traditional Chinese Medicine, designated the tree of happiness.

I took my middle school students’ articles in Spanish and compiled them into a stylish ‘zine.

One tool I relied on daily as a teacher was storytelling. This e-book was created as a supplement to a workshop I facilitated at the Youth Villages National Conference in Memphis, TN in 2013. Campfire in the Classroom describes storytelling as a means to teach academic content as well as timeless wisdom.
